Brooke is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who strives to support teens and young adults in developing the skills and insight to overcome anxiety and depression related to life transitions, adjustment to familial/social stressors, grief, and traumatic experiences. Brooke’s therapeutic style includes a strength-oriented approach that blends psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapies in order to support her clients in embracing authenticity, improving self-esteem, and developing decision-making skills aligned with a positive self-identity. Brooke feels most passionately about therapeutic work that illuminates courage and resilience by breaking through the defenses rooted in shame and self-doubt. Over the past several years, Brooke has worked within Engage’s Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization programs to support teens and young adults in reaching their goals, developing emotion regulation skills, and shifting maladaptive self-perceptions. Prior to her work at Engage, Brooke spent four years working with teenage girls in the foster care system who have been significantly impacted by severe trauma, emotional and behavioral issues, and substance abuse difficulties. She also spent a year providing therapy within a middle school setting to students struggling with a range of mental health challenges and academic difficulties. Brooke enjoys spending her free time with friends and family, exploring new places, staying physically active, and implementing progressive tools to remain mindful and grateful.
